Settling In on Normal

As the days pass I am feeling better and better.  Surgery was AWFUL and don't let anyone tell you any different (if they do they are liars!), but I feel mostly human again.  I am venturing out with my kiddos to take care of the needs we have as a family.  I found a way to make shopping with two crazies as stress-free as possible...and I ordered one immediately.

See that crazy thing my baby girl is laying in?  It's possibly the best invention ever.  At least for moms.  It's called the shopping cart hammock...and it's heaven.  Seriously super easy to use and makes a HUGE difference in having a stress-free life or a ridiculous life.  Possibly the best $50 I've spent thus far on baby crap...and I've spent way too many $50.  You can order one too at Binxy Baby.

Easter 2015

This year I was pretty dang excited to get to buy my daughter her first Easter dress. I was not even a month out from surgery, so most things were still either painful or just exhausting.  The baby was sleeping pretty good, but still waking up to eat at least once in the night.  I had Mike take me to pick out her dress...then take me to another location to get the right size. After both kids had their clothes for the day, we worked on finalizing plans to celebrate.

We always do my family's celebration on Friday at Regina's house. It seems to be getting smaller and smaller with all the big kids moving on to college.  Carol's family has been joining us for years, so when her siblings come and bring their little kids it makes the party a lot more fun.

The Easter Bunny brought some cool stuff for both kids this year.  Sister got some bracelets and hair bows and brother got a new beach towel, a hat, an umbrella, and some other random stuff.  Blip was thrilled with his loot. He's luckily always super happy and excited no matter what's in the bucket.

For Sunday, we set plans to have brunch with Uncle Rob and then to spend the afternoon with Mike's family.  It was the first time some of Mike's family was meeting our daughter.

We met for brunch at 10am so we'd have plenty if time to eat, visit, etc. before needing to leave for Mike's parents' house.  Melissa is an amazing cook, so the food we had for brunch was amazing...and there was way too much.  I wish I could have eaten that food for days...it was so yummy!

By the time we left for Mike's parents' house I was already exhausted.  I wasn't supposed to be over-doing it, but that would mean I wouldn't be able to leave the house.  I wanted to take a nap, but instead we drove straight to the next party.  That I helped plan.  haha :)

We stuffed eggs so the littles could hunt for them.  That's always fun to watch!  After the four littles searched, we ate and socialized for a long time.  One thing I would do different next time (not that there will be a next time) is that I would some how make Mike understand more clearly what my needs are/were.  I needed to be home and in bed, but the baby was being passed around and we were all talking and having a good time, so it's hard to break away or even ask Mike to break away.

The day turned out to be a success.  We got home and put the kids to bed before we crashed.  I am loving having another baby around.  She is so sweet and always so happy.  She rarely cries and sleeps pretty good.  She is the perfect addition to our little family.
