Splash Pad

Melissa invited Blip and me to meet her and Connor at the Splash Pad at Rio Vista after work one day.  I was excited!  I had been wanting to take Blip to several splash pads while it was warm enough, but summer was spent mostly hiding inside after work because I was so tired I could barely function.  After working all day...and then being a single parent at night...I was just too tired most days to much of anything.  It took everything left in me to get Blip dinner and ready to bed.  So the evening out with Melissa was a nice, welcome change...for both me and Blip.

The boys played for a while and then we headed to McDonald's for Happy Meals.  Connor and Blip are exactly one year apart, so i would guess that in a year from now they will be able to play really well together.  It's fun to see Connor and remember where Blip was when he was that age.  It goes sooooo fast...and it's hard to remember all the little things.

Blip did slip and fall while we were there.  He likes to run...and does so even after being told repeatedly to walk.  It was good fall...his head hit the ground pretty hard and left a mark, but he was okay.

I hope next summer is easier to get out and do stuff in the evenings after work.  I will have two kids (which sounds CRAZY), but won't be pregnant, so we can get back to going to the park, splash pads, and the other activities Blip and I like to do together while Daddy is working.

A Baby

Molly's Birthday Party

Miss Molly's birthday party was at the bowling alley this year.  I had Richelle's 40th surprise party the same day, so I missed it.  Mike took Blip and boy did they have fun!

I was sorry to miss Blip's first time bowling...Mike said he LOVED it.  I can't believe Miss Molly is already 6!  Time goes way too fast!

Near Flood

We had some crazy weather...tons of rain that caused massive flooding all over the valley.  We lucked out with no flooding, but we still got a lot of water.

Blip loved to run around in the water with his rain boots...and he helped Daddy clean the pool and the rest of the backyard.  The turtles were even out to see what was going on.

Family Car

Mike found us a new car!  It's amazing and perfect and I love it!  It's not his truck, but he decided this was a better for for our family...for now.  Hopefully someday soon he can have another truck.

Last Swim 2014

Blip and Daddy took their last (freezing cold) swim of the season in our pool today.  We are lucky that our pool stays cool all summer, but that means it stays too cold longer and gets too cold sooner than the pools that get like bath water.  

Cold or colder...the boys still love to swim.  Especially our little fish.

Meat Eater

We still find ourselves shocked at what Blip will and will not eat. And it changes often, so we continue to offer new things and things he's refused before (time after time).  There are times he surprises us...and other times he eats very little for dinner.  

We like the surprises best.  He doesn't normally touch red meat, so this was a total shocker.  And a happy one at that.
