Safe!

Mike had rifle training all week, so he was home on a Friday night for a change of pace.  We went to dinner at an amazing place in downtown Glendale called La Piazza Al Forno. It was delicious...

We went to Cabela's after dinner to look at a few different gun safes.  We've had this on our 'to-do" list for months...okay- years.  Since we don't have kiddos, we have been able to prioritize using the money on other necessities.  We finally decided it was time to bite the bullet and make the purchase.

We spent hours individually researching safes on-line...and Mike went and talked to a few people on Friday.  We talked about starting off with a smaller safe...good enough for now.  The more we bounced our ideas off each other...and the more we learned about the details...we decided to just buy what we needed.

I have always been a believer in not wasting money on crap...and am ALWAYS preaching to Mike about getting what you pay for.  It made our decision to spend nearly double then we first talked about a bit easier...plus I'm (ok...we're) in love with our decision.

We ended up with a "Cabela's" brand safe...but their safes are made by Liberty.  They are one of the top safe manufactures...and their products are made in the USA.  The warranty was quite a bit better than the other safe we were deciding between...and the inside of the door has the coolest organizer.  It probably doubles the size of the storage.

Luckily, our good friend Daniel was able to help us with the safe today...even our neighbor, Tracy, was able to help out quite a bit.  I just took the pictures.

One more step in preparing for our un-conceived child is checked off the list.  Hopefully next will be the pool fence.  And the yard will hopefully get finished too...I'm so ready to look at the beauty...instead of the dirt or mud puddle.  I think the turtles feel the same way.

p.s. we we lucky enough to watch the Yankees lose while enjoying dinner on Friday night.  Starting the World Series is always better without the Yankees.   :)

Cade is jealous of your safe. He has a cheap wife and doesn't get stuff that is nearly so nice.

Looks like your safe is very similar to our Cabela's safe.
We got ours about 4 years ago. It doesn't have the cool door organizer, though.

Definitely worth the investment.
