Disneyland on a Golden Birthday

After a few hours of sleep, Carsen woke up ready to hit Main Street. He wasn't his well rested, cheery self, but who could blame him? We got ready...it always amazes me that Richelle can get herself and the boys ready in the time it takes me to get myself ready.

We walked through Downtown Disney and found breakfast at a little bakery near the entrance to Disneyland. We quickly ate and then headed inside the Happiest Place on Earth. Richelle, Carsen & I each had free tickets because we participated in the "Give a Day, Get a Day" program. Jake was too young to participate.

We made our way down Main Street...along the way we met Donald Duck. We headed for the Astro Oribters, Space Mountain and finally to the Jedi Training Academy. When we were at Disneyland in December, we saw this training academy and were super excited to get Carsen selected by the Jedi Master. I guess the Jedi Master could feel the force in Carsen and Jake because they were both selected!!
After they were sufficiently trained, the Dark Side showed up. Darth Vader came alone, but his buddy Darth Mahl came shortly after. Each of the newly trained Jedi's fought off the Dark Side. It was SO cool...Jake was a very little. He got the point, but had a hard time keeping up during the training. Carsen did everything perfectly (hello? It's Carsen.).

The boys took care of the Dark Side, so we headed off to Buzz Lightyear, the Cars, Winnie the Pooh, Pirates, Toon Town, Peter Pan, Mr. Toad's Wild Ride (the dumbest ride of all time), the carousel, and of course Thunder Mountain.
We planned to head back to the hotel for a nap and quick break for the boys...and for us. However, the boys did NOT want to leave. We walked, ate, walked some more...went on ride after ride...ate some more. I got my standard Mint Julip in New Orleans Square and we also got a couple churros and our favorite Corn Dogs (now located in Frontier Land, not on Main Street). The fireworks are always amazing, but what we watched were the BEST ones EVER!!
It was a great day...full of love. Lots of great memories were made and I enjoyed every second of the boys birthdays.
