Post Op

Mike had surgery this morning to correct his varicocele. If you want (graphic) details, click the link...it's explains more than I want to right now.

Mike made his own appointment for the surgery...and the only time available on the date he wanted was earlier than we enjoy waking up. We had to be at the surgery center at 0630 hours...for the procedure at 0730.

They took him back to prep him...then let us (Mike's parents too) go back. The nurse (male nurse...hahahaha) was going over the instructions...then the anesthesiologist came in and went over his portion...then Dr. Lipson came in and went over his portion.

Mike was slightly loopy on the way home...not as loopy as he was on the way home from his colonoscopy, but still loopy. We dropped off Mike's prescription and then drove over to drop off the dry cleaning. By this point, all Mike was talking about was peeing. We weren't near home...and I didn't want to drive all the way home and then ALL the way back to the pharmacy...we were down the street from my parents, but they're out of town and my key was at home. Luckily, we are on a first name basis with our dry cleaner...and luckily Mike was awake enough to walk through the 400 degree machinery to the bathroom without burning himself.

After the potty break...we drove over to Freddy's Frozen Custard for a steak-burger, fries and a chocolate shake. I (unfortunately) was still full from breakfast, so I didn't get any of Freddy's. Mike loved his food...and then he loved his nap.

He slept for several hours and then decided he wanted to go OUT to dinner. Our friend David is in town for his step-father's funeral, so he's staying with us for the week. We love when David is here!! The three of us went to Fajitas for dinner. I begged Mike to PLEASE not over do it...but we went anyway. We've never had a bad experience at Fajitas...we love that place!! By the time we got home and into bed, Mike was overdone.

We both hope this will be the fix to our baby woes, but we both believe whatever is supposed to happen will happen...we just hope it happens as soon as possible. :)

Andres Had purple socks like that when he had surgery (not the kind Mike had) a few weeks ago. He did not have an easy time recovering from the anesthesia. He felt like he was going to vomit for hours, but he never did.

Glad Mike didn't have that issue. Hope he heals up swiftly, and painlessly!

The kids and I discovered Freddy's a few months ago because it was right down the street from The Open Doors Center where they were attending a home school enrichment program. Love them.
